The 2024 Aledo Frog Race in Downtown Aledo's Central Park was a vibrant celebration of local tradition, drawing families, friends, and competitors of all ages. Organized by the Aledo Exchange Club, Mercer County Jaycees, and the American Legion, the event brought together a unique mix of friendly rivalry and festive fun!
Participants had the option to bring their own frogs or rent one by making a small donation. The races were divided into eight age categories, from toddlers to adults over 50.
Prizes were awarded to the top finishers in each group; however, winning wasn’t the only goal. This festival serves as a treat for community pride and participation. The Aledo Frog Race has become a cherished local tradition, providing not just entertainment, but a way to strengthen community bonds. From the youngest racers to the over-50 crowd, participants and onlookers alike were reminded of the simple joys of friendly competition and community fun. The event stands as a testament to Aledo's rich tradition of celebrating its local culture, drawing people together for a day of laughter, music, and, of course, racing frogs.
